Food from Egypt
Egyptian food is tasty and full of flavor, Egypt's gastronomy is very varied becouse of the geographical position, that allows African and Mediterranean cuisine to mix. 馃實
Typical Dishes:
1.Koshari 馃崫馃
A mix of pasta, rice, lentils, and tomato sauce. Very popular and cheap It is an incredible dish and is usually sold in most street stalls.
2. Ful Medames 馃珮馃
Cooked fava beans, they are usually eaten for breakfast.
From my point of view, I find this food too heavy to eat for breakfast, but there it was a custom and almost everyone ate this for breakfast.
3. Molokhia 馃珱馃ウ
A green soup made with jute leaves. It is usually served with rice. I didn't like this dish very much, personally it reminded me of vegetable puree but with unique spices.
4. Taameya 馃馃
Like falafel, but made with fava beans, It is very similar to another dish called falafel, but this one is made with fava beans. I would say that this was one of the dishes that I liked the most, and it was not very expensive either.
5. Hibiscus Tea (Karkadeh)馃嵉☕️
Karkadeh is a drink made from dried hibiscus flowers. It can be served hot or cold and has a sour, fruity taste. It’s also known for its health benefits, like lowering blood pressure, I really like Karkadeh, It’s refreshing and a nice alternative to soft drinks.
Another recommendtaion is bread made in a traditional oven that i ate, It smelled delicious and tasted great with hummus and olive oil. Also be careful with the street stalls that you visit becouse you could get an infection that is why i highly recommend to buy pills that help with the digestion, in order to protect you stomach.
